Several General Wood Club members are taking their places in the spotlight.  The recently formed Wood Club Rock Band debuted in front of their peers, playing a 30-minute set with five songs.  The band, which formed just three months prior to its debut, participated in the Music Makers program.  Through the help of a dedicated volunteer, this enthusiastic group of teens learned guitar, bass and drums over the summer in just three month.  They received a standing ovation and are scheduled to perform again at the Autumn Teen Dance on November 24.

Drama has also taken center stage at General Wood Club thanks to the recently launched Drama Matters.  This program, which was designed by Boys & Girls Clubs of America, is designed to encourage kids to get involved with drama and theater.  Club teens debuted  "Dr. Franciscostein and His Monster" to rave reviews in October at the new Little Village Theater, the Club’s old auditorium that was recently transformed into a new theater space.  The comedic play entertained many members of the community and left a smile on everyone’s face in time for Halloween.
